Greetings from planDisney, Melinda! Thanks for dropping by with your question. I'm excited to see that you'll be at the Most Magical Place on Earth so soon!
Melinda, I love the ease MagicBands (and
the new MagicBand+) bring to a day inside a Walt Disney World Resort theme park. From hands-free park entry to a quick tap to capture a picture with a
Disney PhotoPass photographer, MagicBands have become a part of my family's Disney story.
Now, Melinda, it sounds like you purchased tickets separately from a resort stay, so let's talk about how to add a
MagicBand to your account in this case. First, it might be helpful to know that you won't actually transfer the ticket from your physical ticket (as your ticket will be linked to your
My Disney Experience Account) but will be adding a MagicBand which will give you the option to use both.
When you log into your My Disney Experience account you'll want to hover over "My Disney Experience" until you see "My MagicBands and Cards." From there, you'll see an option to "Link" your new MagicBand. On the inside of the MagicBand you'll find a number that you can connect on this screen. Melinda, you can also add your MagicBand through the My Disney Experience Mobile App. When you open the app, you'll want to click on the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner. From there, scroll until you see, "MagicBands and More." From there you'll see the option to "Link Your MagicBand or Card."
planDisney friendly reminder: complimentary theme park reservations are required, in addition to your ticket, to enter each park. Once you have purchased and linked your tickets to your My Disney Experience account, you can make reservations online or through the My Disney Experience Mobile App. Melinda, I'll be wishing on a star that you have a trip full of unforgettable moments. If you have any additional questions, please come on back to planDisney. Like Cinderella's Fairy Godmother, we are always happy to help make dreams come true.
