Can you still get a card that can open your room and scan for rides? Husband has pacemaker and magic band not good for him to wear.

    Hi Julie!
    Welcome back to planDisney.

Yes! All Disney Resort hotel guests can request a Key to the World admission card - free of charge - which performs in the same way as a MagicBand+, allowing room charging, park admission, and unlocking our hotel room door.

I can understand from all the talk about MagicBand+ and how much they can do to make our vacations easier (by storing our park tickets, enabling charging to our Disney Resort hotel room, and also unlocking our hotel room, among other things) anyone would think they are a requirement for our visit to Walt Disney World for any length of time.  In fact, it's all about personal choice, and even if you were staying at a Disney Resort hotel for several weeks (we can dream!) you still wouldn't be required to use a MagicBand+.

To enter any Disney theme park, rides and attractions or enter a water park you just need to be able to scan your park ticket - using your Key to the World Card, or your mobile device, from My Disney Experience App, or even from a paper copy.

As you are planning to visit Walt Disney World, you can purchase a MagicBand+, or your entire group can choose not to!  I like them simply for the convenience of having everything available securely on my wrist makes my life easier.  No rummaging around in my backpack to find my phone or my park tickets etc. and a bonus is that all MagicBand+ are waterproof so you can wear them while swimming or showering, and they are so useful for a day at the water parks!  I also enjoy choosing a new design especially if limited editions are released, and they can be re-used several times.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions - and you can send me a direct question if you wish.  We will be happy to help you plan your magical holiday, and keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for all the latest official news about events that may be happening during your stay.
