Can I get a card for lighting passes for children or must I use my phone for them?

Hi there, Lizabeth, and welcome to planDisney! It's so wonderful that you've found us here with this great question about your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort with your kiddos. I'm thrilled to be the one to help guide you today!

Lizabeth, you'll be happy to know that there are a few ways to tap in when it's time to use a pre-selected Lightning Lane pass, and they can be used interchangeably! The three I recommend most are: MagicBands, Key to the World Cards, and Disney MagicMobile Service. While they share many features, they are each beneficial in different ways.

MagicBands that are worn around the wrist are perhaps the most convenient way to tap in for Disney Theme Park admission, since each MagicBand+ is linked to one Guest and is paired with that Guest's fingerprint. It will allow that Guest to charge purchases to their Disney Resorts Collection hotel (if given authorization), use meals and snacks from a dining plan, enjoy fun interactive experiences throughout the parks, and more. MagicBand+ is rechargeable, and you can find really fun designs to suit your personality.

You can pick up Key to the World Cards at the Front Desk of your Disney Resorts Collection hotel. They're complimentary and they allow you to unlock your hotel room door, use your dining plan, access the theme parks, and more. I've seen some guests wear a lanyard with a card holder to keep these handy. Each person in your party will get their own, and you can choose whether you'd like to hold them all or if each Guest can be trusted to keep them safe. You can also get a physical card with your tickets at Guest Relations or the ticket window at the front of the theme parks.

Lastly, Disney MagicMobile Service is a complimentary feature of the My Disney Experience Mobile App. You'll head to My Tickets and Passes, and click Save to Wallet. This is just like saving a credit card or boarding pass - it goes straight to the wallet of your smart phone. When you want to use these for theme park admission or for a Lightning Lane, you'll open up your wallet on your phone and tap each pass one at a time. I have MagicMobile set up for me and my kids because I want to have a backup in case someone misplaces a MagicBand.

Lizabeth, I hope this is helpful as you prepare for your visit. It will be here so soon! Please stop back by planDisney with any other questions you have as you check the last few things off your to-do list! From one mom to another, I know you have your work cut out for you, though I assure you it'll all be worth it when you arrive. I hope you have the very best vacation!

    See you real soon!
