Can't wait to return to WDW! A member of our party is now wearing hearing aids. Is there a guide I can consult to know on which attractions the devices should be removed? Don't want to ruin the vacation eith an expensive mishap!

Hi, Laura! Thanks for bringing another question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Walt Disney World Resort does offer comprehensive Services for Guests with Disabilities including Guide Maps for each of the four Theme Parks and two Water Parks which list the accommodations available within the Parks as well as designations for each attraction with additional information about services offered. The Guide Maps don’t have a dedicated list of attractions where hearing aid removal is recommended, but I would definitely pay attention to the signs at the beginning of each attraction’s queue for information about the attraction’s movement and your potential for getting wet.

If the hearing aids are not waterproof, you will definitely want to remove them for attractions like Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park or Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom Park. Enjoying attractions with a high velocity like Space Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom Park, Test Track at EpcotRock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park might also be a good time to stow the hearing aids in a protective pouch, too.

If you have any additional questions about any of the attractions, I would encourage you to stop by the main Guest Services locations in any of the Theme Parks or Water Parks. You can also contact Disability Services at (407) 560-2547 or email them at disability.services@disneyparks.com.

In the meantime, please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help you plan your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation, Laura. We hope to see you real soon.
