Ahoy there Ian, and welcome aboard
planDisney!
Thanks for sailing by with your question en route to the Happiest Place on Earth. I was delighted to hear
Blue Bayou Restaurant is once again welcoming hungry crew mates back to its shores for some tasty bayou-inspired cuisine.
During the current phase of reopening, restaurant capacity is limited, and when you attempt to secure
advance dining reservations and don't find a table for eight, don't get discouraged. You may have more luck reserving two parties of four. My advice is to try to make both reservations within thirty minutes of each other, and upon check-in, let the Cast Member know you would prefer to be seated as close together as possible. If you're willing to wait a bit longer to make this happen, you may have even more success.
When making dining reservations, if you don't find availability at 60 days out, keep checking during the days leading up to your visit, and you might catch a cancelation. Additionally, consider joining the
Mobile Dine Walk-Up List, a new feature on the
Disneyland Mobile App. With this handy tool, you may be able to add your party to the walk-up list at select table-service restaurants. While I wouldn't rely on this completely, and advance reservations are strongly recommended, it's a great option if you arrive without any set dining plans.
I hope this is helpful, Ian! Best wishes for smooth sailing on your upcoming trip, and if there's anything else we can do before you set off on your
Disneyland Park adventure, come back and see us again.
Bon voyage!
