Hiya, Margi!
Thank you so much for reaching out to us hEAR at planDisney!
Oh no! I'm so sorry to hEAR that your Disneyland dreams will have to be put on hold. Yes, as long as the pass has been wholly unused (as in no days have been redeemed), you're more than welcome to reassign a
Theme Park Admission Ticket to someone else. The ticket might be stuck with your name on it, but as long as the other person doesn't mind being Margi all day then everything should be fine. (The name is mostly for keeping track of which ticket belongs to who in large groups. There is no verification of a person's name against the name on the ticket at the entrance turnstiles, etc.)
You're also more than welcome to hold on to your wholly unused
ticket, too, to use on a future Disney day. While tickets do have expiration dates, the value of what you paid for them will remain forever. To apply the value of an expired ticket to the purchase of a new pass in the future, you'll call the
Disneyland Resort Ticketing Helpline at (714) 781-4636 and they'll walk you through your options.
Pro Tip: While the ticket will disappear from your
Disneyland Mobile App and
My Disneyland Account after the expiration date, the Ticketing Cast Members will be able to find it on their side. However, for peace of mind, I'm the one who'll take a screenshot, email a screen grab to myself, and make a physical printout to keep in a safe place of my pass just to be sure.
I hope that this helped to clEAR up your question, Margi! Be sure to follow the
official planDisney Panel Instagram account for even more tips and tricks. And if you have any more
Disneyland Resort planning questions, We're All Ears!
