Hi there, Brian! Thanks for stopping by planDisney!
It is a busy time at the Disneyland Resort, as we've seen park reservations fill up often this May! With the return of many beloved activities, like
Character Greetings and
Nighttime Spectaculars, it seems that more and more Disney lovers have also made their return to the Happiest Place on Earth!
Brian, though I cannot recommend whether or not to cancel your trip, I can share the best way to try to score tickets on the days you'd like to visit. Of course, these tricks are my own and there are no guarantees. But it's worth a shot! Your best bet is to keep a close eye on the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar. Many Guests do have to change their plans and if they cancel a park reservation, it becomes available for others to book. You never know what you may find each time you open the calendar. I recommend checking every day, even multiple times per day to see if there are any openings.
If you happen to see availability on your preferred days, hop over to the
Disneyland Resort Website as soon as possible to
purchase tickets. Many other Guests may be doing the same thing that you are, so you'll want to beat them to the punch and grab those tickets while they last. The dates on the ticket sale page will match up with what you see in the Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar.
Brian, your other option is to enjoy the Disneyland Resort without the parks. Yes, I know this sounds a little farfetched, but a low-key relaxing vacation is entirely possible at the Happiest Place on Earth. Enjoy the amenities, restaurants and ambiance at the
Disneyland Resort Hotels and spend a full day exploring the
Downtown Disney District. The Downtown Disney District is filled with dining options, delicious desserts, entertainment and the best shopping on Disneyland property! I could spend hours in
World of Disney alone, stocking up on my favorite collectible items and purchasing souvenirs for all my friends and family back home!
I know this is likely not the answer you were hoping for, Brian. There is always the option to reschedule your Disneyland vacation for a time when the parks are more of a "sure thing." In doing so, I'd recommend making your park reservations as soon as you can! Just remember, whatever option you choose, Hakuna Matata!
Have a magical day,
Ashley
