I can't seem to link my ticket ID code to Genie+. I'm told "You entered an invalid ID number. Please try again." How can I make this happen?

    Hi there, Tiffany!

There’s been trials and tribulations along your way toward getting ready to visit the Disneyland Resort. It sounds like you’ve had your share. But I believe you’ve climbed the mountain. I think you may have crossed the river. And I’m pretty sure you’re almost there!

“You entered an invalid number. Please try again.” That message seems to be the same message that I get when I visit the Disney Genie Service Tip Board in the Disneyland mobile app, tap into “Book Experience” for a Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane, and then attempt to link a ticket with a code that may not be what the app is expecting. In your case, I guess that the app is finding a theme park reservation QR code rather than a theme park ticket eTicket number. And if that is the case, you might already be set for adventure in The Happiest Place on Earth.

If my assumption is correct and you already have a theme park reservation with a corresponding QR code, I suspect that you already have your theme park ticket linked with your Disneyland Resort online account as well. To find your theme park ticket in the app, tap the “more” menu button in the lower right-hand corner of the app then tap into the “Tickets and Passes” screen. If you haven’t already logged into your Disneyland account in the app, you’ll be prompted to do so at that point. Once the “Tickets and Passes” screen opens up, you should see your theme park ticket displayed.

So that’s it! If that ticket barcode already shows up in the Disneyland app, it’s “gonna take you all the way!” That barcode is just what you’ll need to show the Cast Member at the theme park entrance. Your theme park reservation QR code then acts as backup verification that you have a reservation for the day that you visit. You may not need it. But keep it handy, just in case.

Tony’s Tip: If you purchased the Disney Genie+ service with your tickets, you will be all set to begin making Lightning Lane return time reservations in the Disneyland app as soon as you enter a theme park. If you don’t already have Genie+ included with your ticket, you may purchase the service after you enter a theme park. Just tap on “Book Experience” from an attraction in the Disney Genie Tip Board screen and follow the prompts to make the purchase. Access to Lightning Lane entrances of select attractions not included with Genie+ may also be purchased once you enter a park.

Now, I hope I understood the situation to help you get “goin’ down the bayou.” But if I missed the mark, don’t worry! “We all gonna pull together!” You are certainly welcome to send us another message here at planDisney with more about what went wrong and we’d love to offer additional help. Another option is to initiate a chat with a Cast Member in the Disneyland app or place a phone call to the Tickets phone line.

Now, as Tiana’s Daddy told her, “Fairytales can come true. You gotta make ‘em happen. It all depends on you!” Enjoy your own fairytale experience at the Disneyland Resort, Tiffany!
