Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Rhianon!
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for stopping by, and we are honored to answer your question and help you plan your upcoming trip to the Disneyland Resort! We are blessed to be a part of your PLANNING TEAM!
I am so sorry you are having issues finding an open
Disneyland Dining Reservation in December. One major issue is that Mickey Mouse and his pals are still limiting the number of Guests in each restaurant in order to make sure every Guest is as safe as possible. Since there are still many Guests trying to book a Disneyland Dining Reservation during a very busy time of the year, you can see how this can cause a big issue. Another major issue for you is that you have a large reservation party. Unfortunately, the Disneyland Dine Line is not open to speak to a Cast Member at the time, so the only way to make reservations is online.
All that to say, I want to encourage you to NOT GIVE UP in booking a dining reservation. My recommendation is to start checking online reservations with more frequency before your scheduled trip. As you know, schedules can change, and Guests will cancel their reservations in order to avoid paying the no-show penalty. I also wanted you to know that many restaurants will take same-day reservations, if they are available. If you are not able to snag a reservation before you arrive, my recommendation would be to go directly to your preferred restaurant and check reservation availability as soon as the restaurant opens. As you continue to check online reservations, you can also split your party size into two groups. I can tell you from experience it is much easier to make a reservation for a smaller party size.
I am wishing upon a star you are able to make your Disneyland Dining Reservation! If you need anything else, please let us know! We are just a question away!
See Ya Real Soon!
