I can't seem to find this information listed. Does my family need passports for the 4 night Baja cruise?

Argh, Matey! Thanks for dropping in on our crew of pirates here at planDisney with your question!

Tristen, I'm so excited to hear that your family is planning a Magical cruise to Mexico! There is nothing quite like setting sail with Captain Mickey (or Minnie) and watching the land slip away from the deck of the ship. My family and I will be back aboard Disney Cruise Line this fall and I'm already counting down the days.

Now, Tristen, in order to make your boarding process as seamless as possible, let's talk about documentation. First, it's important to note that the answer to this question does depend on your citizenship status, but assuming that your entire traveling party are U.S. citizens and assuming that you are adventuring on a round-trip cruise from San Diego, a passport is not required. However, in lieu of a passport, you'll need to submit one of the following choices:
         - Passport card
         - Government-issued ID plus
                   - Original or copy of your state-issued birth certificate* OR
                   - Original Consular Report of Birth Abroad issued by the Department of State OR
                   - Original Certificate of Naturalization issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
(Children under the age of 16 need only present one of the preceding without the government-issued ID.)

Tristen, I know that when I was planning my family's first sailing, I was a bit nervous because I wanted to make sure I had all my documentation ready. I'll encourage you to check out THIS PAGE that has a bit more information. You can also visit the official U.S. State Department's Website for clarification. It's also important to note that minor children traveling without both parents may require additional documentation.

I hope this helps as you're gathering all your necessary paperwork. If you have any additional questions, I hope you'll come on back to planDisney where we're always singing, "yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me!"
