Welcome to
planDisney, Carol!
Thanks for stopping by en route to your adventure. Magic and memories await at the Happiest Place on Earth!
It sounds like you've purchased or are considering purchasing a vacation package that bundles your theme park tickets and hotel room through the travel agency you mentioned. On the
Disneyland Resort website, you can only buy
tickets when
theme park reservations are available, and you automatically secure reservations upon purchasing admission. When you obtain tickets from a third-party vendor, once the first day of your trip is six months away, you can make theme park reservations on a rolling basis, meaning one day at a time, 180 days before each day. I suggest setting a calendar reminder on your mobile device 180 days before your first theme park day so you can make reservations on the earliest possible date. You'll likely find availability at your preferred theme parks six months out. For information about a potential refund, you'll need to check with Get Away Today and review your travel package's cancelation policy.
I hope everything works out for you, Carol! Last summer, my family and I used our
Disney Vacation Club points to stay at
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. We bought our theme tickets through AAA and made reservations a few months before our visit. If you are ready to go at six months out from your trip, you shouldn't have any availability problems. Remember to
link your tickets to your Disneyland account before making reservations, and best wishes for success!
Thanks again for coming to see us at planDisney, and feel free to write back if you have any other questions as you prepare for your vacation. We love to help, and we're all ears!
