We cant get an reservation for character dining with a princecess setting. We are visiting 9/22 -9/27 and have been calling for reservations since May. We are dining at the AK, Rainforest Cafe. Is this a good place for a 3 year girls birthday celebration?

    Latoya:

My children have always loved Rainforest Cafe--and even the older ones love to go back!  It's the one table-service restaurant at Disney where I believe we have eaten the most!  The animatronic gorillas, elephant and assorted other jungle friends bring the forest and restaurant alive around you.  Your daughter doesn't even have to be an animal lover to appreciate it--you've made a good choice!  For the price, it's a wonderful value and you won't have to spend over $30 a person to create a dining memory!  When were there last, we got the chocolate "volcano" for dessert, complete with a sparkler on top!  If you don't plan on having a cake, it would make a fun, appropriate dessert for a birthday!

HINT: if you still have your heart set on a "princess setting," don't give up on landing a reservation at Akershus or 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian.  Because reservations must be guaranteed at Akershus, people are more likely to cancel a reservation there if plans change--even up to 48 hours out.  If you're flexible, don't count out arriving at 1900 Park Fare and waiting for stand-by seating.  My only caution is if you have ordered a custom cake, you'll need to stick to the restaurant where you've made arrangements.

    Wishing y'all a magical birthday!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
