Hi April! Welcome back to planDisney.
Forget Mickey ears - my BUNNY ears perked up when I read your question! My family has spent several Easters at the Walt Disney World Resort, and it's just dreamy. The weather is gorgeous, the flowers are blooming, and the sweetest springtime treats and colors can be found throughout the theme parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. Swoon!
The good news is that you don't need to schedule your Easter festivities too far in advance. If you'll be
staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, there will be signs posted the week or days before Easter with special events. These are usually crafts and recreational activities. In the past, we've experienced candy scrambles and character sightings at our Disney hotel on Easter Sunday.
I would recommend
making dining reservations for an Easter brunch or dinner. Sometimes there are special menu items, but those aren't usually announced until much closer to Easter, so choose any place you've been wanting to visit. For me, a character breakfast like
Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera or Chef Mickey's would be fun, or maybe something with scrumptious food like
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' or Olivia's Cafe.
Speaking of resort hotels, there's usually a fun chocolate Easter egg display at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. If you need a break on a Magic Kingdom Park day, you could plan to take the monorail or boat over and enjoy the lobby displays and lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe. Your Disney Resort hotel gift shop may also offer customized Easter basket services or other festive merchandise.
If you'll be visiting
Magic Kingdom Park, you may catch a glimpse of Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny on Main Street, U.S.A. In the past, there has been an Easter opening to the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, but that parade is currently paused and has been replaced with
cavalcades that run throughout the day.
Over in EPCOT, the
Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival sometimes features an Easter EGG-Stravaganza scavenger hunt. We're still waiting for details about the 2022 festival, but enjoying the food booths, topiaries, and entertainment is a great way to enjoy Easter.
My advice is to follow the
Disney Parks Blog for all the news and updates. As we get closer to spring, there will be stories about
Springtime at the Walt Disney World Resort and fun activities and treats available to celebrate the new season blooming.
Thanks for HOP-ping by planDisney with your question. As you continue to dream about your visit this spring, please come back and see us if you have any further questions.
Wishing you much magic,
Robyn
