I cant find about the new star wars rides we have a 3 yr. old and want to see if she can go on the starwar rides?

Hiya, Shelly, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so excited for you and your family to visit a galaxy far, far away this May! I’d love to help you plan your journey to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the Disneyland Resort!

Currently, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is open inside Galaxy’s Edge, featuring a ride in the famous cockpit of the Millennium Falcon, as you embark on a dangerous smuggling mission. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will join Galaxy’s Edge on January 17, and I couldn’t be more excited! This attraction promises to be unlike anything you’ve experienced at the Disneyland Resort. Now, let’s look at the height restrictions of both attractions, so we can determine if your 3-year-old will be able to ride both of these thrilling attractions. Guests must be at least 38” (97 cm) or taller to ride Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and at least 40” (102 cm) or taller to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. My 3-year-old is over 40”, so I’m crossing my fingers yours is, too! My son loves riding the Falcon, and gets such a kick out of jumping to Lightspeed!

If you’re unsure about whether or not your toddler will be comfortable riding these attractions, I recommend checking them out on YouTube prior to your arrival. Rise of the Resistance is already open at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, so you’ll be able to see videos from that attraction, too, if you want to take a look online before it opens at Disneyland Resort. My son says Smugglers Run is a bit bumpy, but other than that, he enjoys it.

I highly recommend making a reservation (up to 60 days in advance) to build a custom astromech droid unit at Droid Depot, also in Galaxy’s Edge. I participated in this experience with my older son (now age 8) and we had so much fun! You can also purchase smaller, pre-made droids, too.

Lastly, be sure to make a reservation (up to 60 days in advance) for Oga’s Cantina at the Disneyland Resort. My favorite alcoholic drink is the Yub Nub, and my son loves the non-alcoholic Blue Bantha.

Be sure to take the time to explore Black Spire Outpost… you never know who you’ll run into, from Chewbacca to Rey to Kylo Ren!

Wishing you a memorable visit to the Disneyland Resort, Shelly, and may the Force be with you!
