While using the convenient
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa entrance to Disney California Adventure Park is sometimes restricted to Guests of one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels during busy times, it's rarely restricted as an exit. Generally, anyone can use this exit. Of course, that might change, and at times Guests have been asked to show their room key at the exit, so your mileage may vary.
If you use the park exit into the Grand Californian, you can enter the Downtown Disney District from the hotel, but remember, you'll need to go through the security screening process again, which does take some time. Also, security closes shortly after the
Downtown Disney District hours end. I hope this helps!
