Mom and Daughter at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort Room

    I can't decide whether to book a Deluxe Studio at Saratoga Springs or a room at the Wilderness Lodge. We have 2 small boys, ages 2 & 4. Any advice?

    Hi, Danielle! I have stayed at both resorts in the room-type you are considering, and I would have to give my nod to the room at Wilderness Lodge.  The Deluxe Studio is a great room at Saratoga Springs (SS), and the resort is beautiful.  However, the room amenities are the same at both resorts, and the convenience of Wilderness Lodge (especially to the Magic Kingdom) is so much better.  In addition, because SS is a DVC resort and houses mainly larger villas, the "feeling" of the resort is much more expansive and caters to those who are more independent on vacation.  In fact, we've never stayed at this resort without a car and without purchasing groceries for the room.

    Therefore, since you're traveling with young children, I think that you'll be more pleased with the Wilderness Lodge and being in the center of so many resort amenities such as great dining, wonderful recreation and convenient transportation. Plus, you're only a boat ride away (or a nice stroll) over to Fort Wilderness. There you can participate in Mickey's Backyard BBQ, the Hoop Dee Doo Revue, Chip n' Dale's Campfire Sing-a-long, a petting zoo, pony rides and much, much more. Then, The Contemporary is also a short boat ride, too.  It's home to Chef Mickey's, the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Cruise, The California Grill and a monorail station.

    The Wilderness Lodge has a gorgeous yet comfy lobby, and the Whispering Canyon Cafe as well as Artist Point are two of my very favorite restaurants. Your boys will love the pool area, and there's a Kid's Activity Center, too.
