Hello Allison! Welcome to the Disney Parks Mom´s Panel.
You will be happy to know that Disney´s Port Orleans Resort guests can enjoy the pools, playgrounds, restaurants, transportation and all amenities at either of Riverside or the French Quarter.
Disney´s Port Orleans Resort is my family´s main resort, beautiful landscape and unique and relaxing theme. We have stayed at both -
Riverside and
French Quarter resorts. Both have queen beds, double sinks, same amenities and most times share the same transportation (bus and boat). The main difference is theme and size of resort.
Services (front desk, bus stop, pools and restaurants) at Disney´s French Quarter Resort are nearby to all rooms. Riverside Resort is much larger and many rooms require a longer walk to these services.
Still, Riverside Resort does features three different rooms and a Casual dining restaurant. Royal Guest Rooms are located very close to all these services. Use the provided links to also view resort maps.
My kids prefer Disney´s Riverside Resort because they love taking turns to sleep at "Louis the alligator" bunk-size pull down bed, only found at the Alligator Bayou section. We also prefer Riverside´s landscape and woods-like feel. Of course, we also like walking.
Make sure to enjoy the
Pirates Adventure Cruise featured at Port Orleans Resort. Kids get to experience two hours as pirates and parents get a well deserved two hours rest.
Happy to help you plan a magical Disney vacation.
Miguel
