We can't decide between AOA little mermaid room or CB? Our kids will be 5 and 3 so we are looking for resorts with shorter travel times to parks and convenience to bus stops. Can't afford a deluxe resort though. We are also looking for comfortable rooms.

Hi Sydney! I am so happy you have sent in your question for us to help you with your Disney planning.

You won't find much difference between the travel times of these two resorts to all of the four parks. It will vary but most trips using the Disney buses from either of these resorts will be anywhere from 12-22 minutes.

The Art of Animation is the newest Disney resorts but the Little Mermaid rooms are the furthest from the buses and main building. I would suggest you request either building 7 or 9 and a room as close to the buses as possible when you make a reservation. I personally prefer having one bus area for the resort versus having to take in internal bus at the Caribbean Beach that makes many stops just at the resort to pick up guests. I would opt for Art of Animation and if you look at the map it will look much further then it actually is to take the walk to the buses. The Little Mermaid buildings will have their own pool but you will also want to make sure you take time to enjoy the main resort pool too. The kids will love the underwater technology and will also love the wild and bright decor of the whole resort.

If you want to take the step up to a moderate resort then I would suggest you look at Port Orleans. They have just gone through major refurbishment and all rooms will have queen beds with some having the new pull down beds for the younger guests. Again your trip time to the parks won't be much different but at Port Orleans you will have the opportunity to take a boat and reach Downtown Disney fun in just minutes. This is always a tough decision picking a resort but my vote for moderate goes to Port Orleans and my vote for value goes to Art of Animation or Pop Century.
