Hi, Can't choose between Coronado or Pop Century preferred room? March 2020 Any tips, 2 adults and granddaughter age 9. Are all the rooms at Pop renovated? We have stayed at Coronado and really liked it but heard good reviews about pop. Many thanks

    Hi Stacey,
Thanks for joining us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!

I have stayed at both Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Coronado Springs Resort recently (being a local has its perks) and they are both lovely hotels.

I think which resort you choose depends on how you like to vacation.  Are you fan of swimming and lounging by the pool quite a bit during your stay? If so, The Lost City of Cibola Pool at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort wins that contest in my opinion; it boasts the largest hot tub on Disney property, plus has a 123-foot-long waterslide!  The main pool at Disney's Pop Century Resort, called the Hippy Dippy Pool, is scheduled to be under refurbishment in early 2020.  The two smaller pools (the Bowling Pool and the Computer Pool) will still be open.

Stacey, are you adventurous eaters, or do you find that you really love some of the old classics like burgers and chicken fingers? I have two children that will eat pretty much everything under the sun and two more that are somewhat picky. Everything Pop Shopping & Dining has a long list of favorites for my pickier eaters.  They can find something they will enjoy at this fantastic food court for every meal of the day and they are more than happy to eat there every day during our stay.  My more adventurous eaters (including my husband and myself) love the variety of restaurants at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort.  Most recently, we have tried one of the newer additions, Toledo-Tapas, Steak & Seafood, located in the recently opened Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. It was fantastic and I plan on dining there again very soon.  We really liked El Mercado de Coronado for a quick option; my husband loved the chorizo on the menu in the breakfast dishes.

The transportation options are something to consider with the new Disney Skyliner opening on September 29, 2019. While Disney's Coronado Springs Resort only offers transport via bus, Disney's Pop Century Resort will have Skyliner service available to both Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot.

Stacey, I hope I've given you a few things to consider as you make your final choice. Have a fantastic time! Don't forget to book your Advanced Dining Reservations when you are 180 days from your arrival as well as your FastPass+ selections when you are 60 days from your arrival date.

    Best Wishes,
    Amy S.
