I've been a
Magic Key Holder for many years, and I can honestly say the value keeps me coming back year after year. I love being able to grab a theme park reservation whenever I know I'll be in the area. The discounts and special access opportunities also make me feel like Disney royalty. Last year, I attended
Oogie Boogie Bash and was delighted to discover an exclusive Magic Key photo opportunity during the party. I used my Magic Key early access to purchase tickets for this year's event, and I'm already counting down the days until all the Halloween fun begins!
Brenda, if you purchase a
single-day or multi-day theme park ticket for your October visit, you can upgrade it to a Magic Key Pass by midnight on the last valid day of your ticket and apply the value of that ticket toward your new pass. There are four different Magic Key pass levels available, including a Southern California Resident-only option for Guests living within ZIP codes 90000 to 93599, if that happens to apply to you.
One of the perks of being a California resident is the option to make monthly payments on a Magic Key Pass instead of paying the full amount up front. If you haven't purchased your October ticket yet, that may be a helpful option to consider.
One important thing to keep in mind: if you upgrade your ticket before your visit, you will need to visit a Disneyland Resort ticket booth to complete the upgrade, and your existing theme park reservation will not transfer over. You'll need to make a new reservation using your shiny new Magic Key Pass.
If you upgrade your ticket on the day of your visit, you can typically complete the
upgrade directly in the Disneyland Mobile App. From the three line menu icon, navigate to My Tickets & Passes, select your ticket, and if your ticket is eligible, you should see an "Upgrade Your Ticket" button. Follow the prompts to upgrade your ticket and apply the cost toward your Magic Key Pass.

fang-tastic time. I can't wait to go again this year! I'm currently trying to conjure up the perfect costume, which might be the toughest trick of the season.
