Hi, Lorena! It's my pleasure to welcome you to planDisney!
Lorena, I've been having the exact same issue you're experiencing when trying to use
Disney MagicMobile Service with Apple Wallet on my iPhone. I updated and restarted my phone, deleted and reinstalled the app, and cleared out all of my old tickets from my Wallet, but nothing worked. I had given up for a while, but your question was the kick start I needed to try again, and this time I was successful! Let's jump in and see if we can get yours squared away in time for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
I learned that the problem was with my Apple Wallet. Since I had only used it for sporting event tickets, I never set it up to support payments or credit cards. Disney MagicMobile will use one of the Apple Pay spaces in your Wallet, so you need to set it up even if, like me, you never use it to pay for things. Here's what I did:
- Open Wallet.
- On the "Get Started With Apple Pay" screen, press "ADD."
- You should get a prompt to Set Up Face ID & Passcode, so follow the instructions to do that.
- Hop back over to your
My Disney Experience app and go to "MagicMobile" to set up your pass.
- Follow the prompts to create your pass and click "Add to Apple Wallet," then click the blue "Add" button.
And that should do it! When you
use your tickets with Disney MagicMobile service in the theme parks, you'll just hold your phone up to the touchpoint. If you have multiple family members' tickets on your phone, you'll need to bring them up in Wallet and swipe through to scan each one.
I'm sending lots and lots of pixie dust in hopes that this method works for you, Lorena! I know how frustrating it is to keep getting that error message over and over again. If you still have issues, feel free to
send me another question and we'll try to work it out together!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
