Hi Katherine! Welcome to planDisney! I'm always so excited to see a fellow Pennsylvanian making their way to the Happiest Place on Earth! September is SUCH a fun month to visit as it is usually the kick-off to the fall holiday season.
Halloween Time will likely be in full swing and you'll get to experience some of the very best seasonal overlays like Haunted Mansion Holiday - a true GEM!
It sounds like you purchased a
Disneyland Resort Hotel Vacation Package! This is one of the very best ways to see and experience all there is to do at the Disneyland Resort! If this is the case, your theme park tickets (and their numbers!) will be delivered to your My Disneyland account four days before arrival. You should have received a confirmation for your vacation package - this number can be used for any reservations you may need to make ahead of your visit.
Now let's put a star on a few upcoming dates that will help you plan for your trip and get you excited for all the magic that lies ahead!
Theme park reservations can be made up to 120 days ahead of your arrival. In addition to your theme park ticket, you will need a reservation to enter the parks. Since you have Park Hopper tickets, you will be selecting the park where you would like to start your day and hopping will be available to you after 1 p.m. I suggest you make these reservations at the 120 mark - they can always be canceled and rescheduled but they are subject to availability. My general rule of Disney thumb is to make the reservation and have the freedom to change it later!
Another date you'll want to put a star next to is 60 days out from your arrival. This is when
dining reservations will open up to you. There are SO many delicious restaurants with theming that will transport you to the most unique experiences. A few of my favorites are the classics such as
Blue Bayou Restaurant where you can dine on New Orleans-inspired cuisine and watch fellow guests sail away on the Pirates of the Caribbean and
Carnation Cafe nestled right on Main Street, U.S.A. This is one of my very favorite spots as it reminds me of all the history Disneyland Park has to offer. You can easily imagine Walt grabbing a bite to eat here while watching Guests wander down Main Street, U.S.A., and you can even try one of his favorite dishes - Walt's Chili! For your days at Disney California Adventure Park, step back in time to the golden age of film at
Carthay Circle Restaurant or feel like you've walked straight into the beauty of Napa Valley at
Wine Country Trattoria!
Katherine, I hope all this planning is getting you excited for your time at the Disneyland Resort! You are in for a truly magical experience. If any more questions pop up as you get closer to your trip, feel free to reach back out to us. We are always here for you at
planDisney!
Keep wishing on those stars,
Tara
