We cannot decide between visiting WDW from Oct. 25-31 or Nov. 8-16.Which dates would be best for crowds, weather & special events?Would Veteran's Day affect crowds that week in Nov?Could we swim either of those weeks? How about Christmas decorations?

    October
For lower crowds, October is better.

Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival is October 26 -  November 9. The Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party on October 28, 30 or 31would be a fun option.

Average temps are low 66, high 85. Last year these dates had quite a bit of precipitation, but looking back 2 years, there was only a trace of rain. Swimming during the day should be nice.

    November
Your November dates will have some increase in crowds due to the Veteran’s Day holiday as well as the popular “Jersey” week. Jersey week brings an influx of New Jersey guests who are taking advantage of school being out for teacher conferences. While it isn’t mobbed, it does create higher crowds. We did the same thing a couple of years ago to take advantage of no school here in PA.

In addition, ABC Super Soap Weekend, usually held in early November, brings more people to Hollywood Studios. We have been during this week and found the crowds to be thick over the weekend. On a Sunday night, I had a fabulous time seeing the General Hospital stars and the attractions were walk-ons for my husband and son. (My son thought Mom had gone nuts when I couldn't calm down after bumping in to Tristan Rogers and having my picture taken with him.)

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will be held November 11, 14 and 16 during your stay. Some of the resorts will still be working on their masterpieces such as the Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian. You should arrive to find the Magic Kingdom decked in its finest holiday décor.

Average temps are low 58 and high 79. I did not find it hot enough to swim but my son spent many days in the pool.

It will ultimately depend on whether seeing the Christmas decorations and events are your top priority. If so, you can definitely manage the slight influx of crowds. Otherwise, I would go in October and take advantage of the Halloween events.

Let me know if I can help you any further with your choice of dates!
