We cannot afford to do many table service meals on our trip.My concern is that we will be faced with eating burgers and fries for 8 days.I just can't deal with that. Will there be any counter service places that serve real food?

know where you're coming from; I'm a "real" food kind of girl myself and I typically don't eat fast food (or its equivalent) when we are vacationing at Disney World.  During our last trip, though, we were able to get a fantastic package price that included the dining plan, so I was coerced into trying some of the counter service locations that I normally would have passed by.  Here are my top choices:

Animal Kingdom - Flame Tree Barbeque.  I had the smoked 1/2 chicken which was tasty as far as counter service goes.  The cornbread it came with left a bit to be desired though.  My husband really enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich.

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons in The Land.  There was a wide variety of options to choose from here including deli style sandwiches, rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes, salads, and an asian station.

Downtown Disney - Wolfgang Puck Express.  It's technically a counter service location, but you wouldn't know it by tasting the food.  Menu items include quesadillas, flatbread salads and sandwiches, pizza, rotisserie chicken, and a delicious macaroni and cheese dish.

I've tried all of the locations above and found them to have great options and pretty good food.  There are a lot of counter service places in the World Showcase at Epcot that serve items relevant to the countries represented there.  Those will all go beyond your standard burger and fries fare.  Even at Pecos Bills in the Magic Kingdom (where hamburgers reign supreme) there were other options, namely, a chicken wrap or taco salad.  I think you'll find that even if you dine in counter service locations the majority of the time, you can pretty easily vary your meal choices.
