I use a cane to get around but would love to visit one of Disney parks in Florida. What are some suggestions on which one /how to book? are there wheel chairs or transport around the parks as i can’t walk far

    Royal greetings, Belinda!

A warm welcome to planDisney. We're so glad you've brought us your fantastic Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question! It sounds as though you're planning to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth very soon. I'd be happy to assist you in preparing for a fun-filled, comfortable day in the theme park!

Belinda, no matter which Walt Disney World Resort theme park you choose, you're in for a day of thrills and excitement. If you'll only have the opportunity to visit one, however, I recommend choosing either Magic Kingdom Park or EPCOT. You should be able to purchase single-day theme park admission at the main entrance to either theme park, on the U.S.-based Walt Disney World Resort website, or in the My Disney Experience mobile app once you arrive in the United States. I recommend taking a look at the Hours & Events Calendar for the day of your visit and arriving just before the park opens in order to maximize your time in the theme parks. This will also allow you to stop by the wheelchair rental location first thing in the morning. (Check out the map at the bottom of the wheelchair rental page for specific locations at each of the theme parks!)

To minimize your attraction wait times, I highly recommend purchasing Disney Genie+ service in the My Disney Experience mobile app once you arrive on-site, Belinda. This service will allow you to bypass the standby queues and access attractions via their Lightning Lane entrances. You can purchase Disney Genie+ service after midnight on the day of your theme park visit and begin making Lightning Lane entry selections at 7:00 a.m. sharp. Then, you can continue making additional selections throughout the day to keep the fun going all day long!

Belinda, if you're seeking nostalgia and whimsy, Magic Kingdom Park is the right choice. If you've previously visited Disneyland Paris, I think you'll find this U.S.-based park quite synonymous with Parc Disneyland, with many familiar and similar attractions and dining offerings. Many attractions and experiences at Magic Kingdom Park allow Guests to remain seated, like a few of my family's favorites: Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress, Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, Enchanted Tales with Belle, and many more. However, if you're looking for something totally unique, consider visiting EPCOT. The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is happening now through May 27, 2024, filling the theme park with beautiful blooms and outstanding topiaries and gardens! Not to mention, the Outdoor Kitchens offer flavorful quick bites and splendid sips. I'd certainly recommend a wheelchair rental for this theme park, as the World Showcase is as expansive as it is impressive.

I hope you've found these recommendations helpful, Belinda. I wish you a Walt Disney World Resort holiday filled with magical memories! If you have any additional questions, revisit us here at planDisney anytime.

    Warm wishes,
