Does the Candlelight Process dinner pkg requires advance payment? Since it's 2 credits of the dining plan, is it better to pay it and use our credits somewhere else? What is your feedback regarding meals that cost 2 credits? Trying to decide best value.

    Hi, Glorian!

    Great question!

We absolutely loved our Candlelight Processional Dinner Package, as it ensured us a delicious, leisurely meal AND great seating at the stunning Processional. (VIP viewing area for Epcot's Illuminations, too.) I wouldn't attend a Candlelight Processional any other way...it was that good!

Regarding payment, in the past it's been the typical $10 per person "Credit Card Guarantee." This means that you're credit card will only be charged ($10 per person on the reservation) if you don't show up for your reservation or don't cancel at least 24 hours in advance. No advance payment required.

Regarding the 2 credits from your Disney Dining Plan, I have a very strict personal policy on that. We only spend 2 credits on a Table Service meal in very specific circumstances. First, if we'll be arriving so late or leaving early enough that either our first or our last day just can't easily accommodate a TS meal, then I'll use the extra TS credit to double up on a 2 credit location. If that's not the case, I'll allow us to use 2 credits just once during the trip for something special, such as Candlelight Processional, a meal at Cinderella's Royal Table (esp. if we are there with a family who has never dined in the Castle) or for a special meal at a Signature Restaurant, such as  Yachtsman Steakhouse or Flying Fish Cafe.

To balance out the missing TS meal one day, we'll pay cash for an extra Quick service meal or grab a heavy snack during the day in place of that added TS meal. When possible, we'll use a QS credit at Sunshine Seasons at Epcot and at Downtown Disney's Wolfgang Puck Express, the latter feeling much like a TS location. Yum!

Send more questions as you plan your trip, Glorian! I love to help!
