Want to see Candle Proc on Tues 11/30. ADR at ChefdeFrance at 4:50. DO NOT have package. Will we be done in time to see 6:45 show or should we wait for 8:00 show? Is restaurant close to theater? If 8:00 show will we get out in time to get a spot for Illum?

Hi Chris!  The Candlelight Procession is one of the most popular holiday events at Walt Disney World. It also happens to be my favorite and something I try to get back to every year!

The lines get quite long for the stand-by seats for the show.  With your dinner reservation being at 4:50 this means you will simply get the next table available so you might not get seated until 5:00 or even after.  You won't want to rush through dinner at this great restaurant and the stand-by line forms on the furthest side of the American theater so it isn't going to be real close.  You can try and see if you can get in for the 6:45 show but your best bet will be the 8:00pm one.  Be sure and line up early for this time so you aren't shut out completely.  The only bad thing is that you will be hearing some of the music when you are waiting but it is still worth waiting for the seats.

There are many great spots for Illuminations and so much can be seen from different locations around the park.  You shouldn't have a great deal of difficulty finding some little niche to view this great show.  I do suggest you watch the direction of the wind so you can avoid the firework residue and smoke and view from the better side!
