Hello Lena,
Thank you for stopping in to see us here at planDisney. We always welcome the chance to share suggestions based on our own Disney destination vacations as a way to help you plan your own Disney magic.
I'm so sorry to hear that you had to change your plans to visit the Disneyland Resort. It sounds like you had your theme park ticket purchased and your theme park reservation made. I can imagine your disappointment in not getting to enjoy visiting
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park as you had originally planned.
It's good that you were able to cancel your theme park reservation with the
"My Theme Park Reservations" features in your Disney account online (or perhaps you used the
Disneyland Resort mobile app.)
It's helpful to know that theme park reservations are made for you as part of a purchase of new tickets using the
Theme Park Tickets & Reservations system online or through the Disneyland Resort mobile app. Because theme park reservations are required along with valid theme park admission tickets to visit the theme parks, the Theme Park Tickets & Reservations system makes it really convenient to take care of both requirements -- purchasing the theme park ticket and making the theme park reservation -- in the same set of steps.
It's also helpful to know that cancelling a theme park reservation doesn't cancel the theme park ticket that you purchased. Theme park tickets for the Disneyland Resort are
nonrefundable and nontransferable.
The good news to share, Lena, is that the theme park ticket you purchased would still have a valid use period based on the terms and conditions of the ticket. For example, a multi-day theme park ticket purchased today would have a valid use period through January 12, 2023 (or through 13 days after the ticket is first used for theme park entry, depending on which happens first.) More good news is that, should an unused ticket expire, the price paid for that ticket can be applied to the purchase of a new ticket.
So while there would not be a refund associated with cancelling a theme park reservation, you can still look forward to using your theme park ticket to enjoy a visit to "The Happiest Place on Earth."
Lena, I know you mentioned that you were not able to reach the Disneyland Resort by phone. I, too, have noticed that the
phone lines are very busy as Cast Members assist Guests with their questions. One idea, if you do want to reach out to the Disneyland Resort, is to
use the online email form. Another suggestion is to use the "Chat with Us" feature in the Disneyland Resort mobile app. While the chat service is also very busy, a Cast Member can reply to your chat message.
Lena, I hope you get to plan a wonderful and fun visit to the Disneyland Resort real soon!
Here's wishing you lots of Disney magic in your day today.
Jerry
