What is the cancellation policy for resorts and ticket’s?

Hey there, Kathleen, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by the panel with your question! It’s fantastic to see that you are planning a Walt Disney World Vacation. I really like this question because I also enjoy having as much information as possible before moving forward with my travel plans! The great news is that Walt Disney World has some really great policies around changes and cancellations.

First, let’s talk about the Theme Park Tickets. Walt Disney World Theme Park Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable, meaning that you cannot cancel them or receive a refund. The good news, however, is that they can be modified if your travel plans change! As long as it is done before your original ticket start date, you can change the dates on your tickets to align with your new plans.

Next up are Disney Vacation Package cancellations. When you book a Disney Vacation Package, which includes a Disney Resorts Collection hotel reservation and Theme Park Tickets, you can cancel your reservation without penalty 30 or more days before your arrival date. But reservations canceled inside the 30-day window are assessed a $200 cancellation fee - which basically means that you will be refunded any monies paid but won’t receive your deposit back. Finally, if you cancel the day before your arrival, the full price of your package is non-refundable!

And if you book a Disney Resorts Collection hotel room-only reservation, there are no cancellation fees assessed as long as you cancel 5 days or more before your arrival.

I hope this helps, Kathleen! If you have more questions while planning your Disney Vacation, stop back by and let me know
