What is cancellation policy on resort and theme park reservations?

    Howdy Scott!

Welcome to planDisney!  Thank you for sharing your question with us!

When planning a vacation, I always have to know all the details, including the cancellation policy!  The cancellation policy for a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort would depend on which type of vacation you have booked.  Currently, if you have booked a Walt Disney World Resort vacation package, then you will be able to receive a full refund as long as your Walt Disney World Resort vacation package is canceled within 30-days before your check-in date.  Once you cancel your Walt Disney World Resort vacation package, this will also cancel your theme park tickets and your Disney Park Pass Reservations.  If you booked a Disney Resort Collection hotel room-only reservation, you would be able to cancel your reservation up until five days before your check-in date.  If you have purchased theme park tickets, you will need to call the Walt Disney World Resort, and a Cast Member will be able to change the dates of your wholly unused theme park tickets.  Walt Disney World Resort theme park tickets are non-refundable. Still, the value of an entirely unused theme park ticket can be applied to a future theme park ticket, and you can settle any price differences with the Cast Member when you speak with them to make those changes.  Once you have canceled your theme park tickets for particular dates and changed the dates, this should automatically cancel your Disney Park Pass Reservations.  If you notice that your Disney Park Pass Reservations are showing that they are not canceled on your My Disney Experience, then you can cancel them in your My Disney Experience account!

I see that you are planning to visit the Walt Disney World Resort in April!  April is a “Practically Perfect” time to see all the spring EARidescent excitement popping up all around the Walt Disney World Resort!  To stay up-to-date on everything to do and see during your visit, check the Disney Parks Blog and “The World’s Most Magical Celebration!”

If you have any more questions as you plan your visit to Neverland, please come back to planDisney!  We look forward to hEARing from you again, Scott!
