What is your cancellation policy for reservations after April 30, 2021? Both for hotels and theme parks?

    Hey there, Alex!

Thanks for visiting planDisney, where we always appreciate a moment to share our own Disney vacation experiences to help you get the most from your Disney destination vacation.

I do know that Walt Disney World Resort has been offering a "Book with Confidence" approach to its cancellation policies for reservations with arrival dates through April 30, 2021. Your question about what the policies would be after April 30 got me curious as well, and so I reached out to Walt Disney World Resort Cast Members to gather some information.

Keeping in mind that policies are subject to change and could be updated, I would expect that cancellation policies would return to the standard policies after the flexible policies end.

You can review standard cancellation policies in the Terms and Conditions before you complete your booking of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation package. I'll offer a quick overview of current standard polices.
    • If you book a vacation package and cancel 30 days or more before your arrival, any amount you paid will be refunded, except that any third-party cancellation fees will be deducted from the refund.
    • If you cancel your vacation package between 29 days and 2 days before your arrival, there will be a $200 cancellation fee deducted from your refund, and any third-party cancellation fees will be deducted from your refund as well.
    • If you cancel your vacation package 1 day or less before your arrival, or if you are a no-show, your full vacation package is non-refundable.
    • If you book a Resort room-only reservation, you can get a refund of your deposit if you cancel at least 5 days before your arrival.

I'll also share here that Walt Disney World Resort theme park tickets are nonrefundable.

Alex, I hope this information is helpful. If you have questions about booking your reservation, you can call the Walt Disney Travel Company at (407) 939-7675.

Here's hoping you have a great, big, beautiful tomorrow with a Walt Disney World Resort vacation ahead of you!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
