Hey there Josephine,
Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for your question! I hope you're getting excited for your upcoming trip to the Happiest Place on Earth!
Currently, you need both valid theme park tickets and a
theme park reservation for each day that you plan to visit one of the parks. With the tickets, you just need to purchase them and use them by their expiration date, which is a pretty wide window. You can find the current expiration date at the bottom of the
ticket purchase page or in your purchase confirmation email that you receive after you buy them.
Theme park reservations are typically made during the ticket purchase process but you can also see and manage them from the
My Plans hub on the Disneyland Resort website. These reservations are made for each day that you plan to visit a park and are valid for that specific day.
The great thing about reservations is that they're incredibly flexible! You can cancel and re-book your reservations as needed. In other words, if you planned a trip for December 16, but found out a few days before that you're not able to make it then you can visit the My Plans hub and cancel your existing reservations and make new ones at a later date or just immediately re-book your reservations. Just note that reservations are subject to availability and you can check to see what's available on the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar.
Typically, theme park reservations are valid for one park that you're able to visit during that park's hours for the day of the reservation. However, if you would like to visit both parks on a specific day then you can add the
Park Hopper option to your ticket! With this option, you'll select your starting park where you'll begin your day and then you'll be able to hop between both parks from 11:00 AM through park closing.
If you end up running into any issues with your theme park reservations, then I would recommend
reaching out to one of the helpful Cast Members at the Tickets line. They'll be able to see the details of your situation and help you with next steps.
I hope that helps, Josephine! Enjoy your upcoming visit to the Disneyland Resort!
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
