Hi there, Catherine!
Welcome to planDisney! Having exciting plans change is so disappointing and I hope that you are only thinking of cancelling to move your trip to visit even sooner! Regardless, one thing that I love about visiting Walt Disney World Resort is the cancellation policies. The two possible cancellation policies depend on whether you purchased a vacation package or a hotel-room-only package.
If you purchased a vacation package that includes theme park tickets and a stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel then know that
cancellations must occur no later than 30 days before you arrive so that you can get a full refund. Cancellations that are 29 days or less from your arrival date till no less than 2 days out will allow guests to get a refund minus the $200 deposit. If you cancel one day or less before your arrival then all payments are lost and refunds are not possible. If you made a
room-only reservation then a full refund is possible if you cancel at least 5 days before you arrive.
Changes can be made right in your
My Disney Experience Account and scroll to your reservation. You will see the option to either "Cancel Reservation" or "Change Reservation." Your reservation may not be able to be canceled online so a number will posted and you will have to call. I can't give you a definite answer without knowing the kind of reservation that you made.
You stated that you are a Florida resident so I hope you know about the new
Florida Resident Disney Thrills Tickets which are valid to use from January 11 to March 15, 2024. These tickets can be either 2-day or 3-day tickets and can be used on non-consecutive days and can even be used on weekends. Since these tickets are not date-based,
advanced theme park reservations are still required. They are a great deal and if you happen to move up your plans I would consider grabbing them!
I hope this helps and if you have any more questions, please feel free to
let me know!Happy Planning!
