    What are cancellation policies regarding packaged reservations at the resort. We made reservations in October 2022 at the resort, but the couple we are going with are not sure. They are having problems looking for a dog sitter.

    Hi there, Ruby! Welcome back to planDisney! I'm so happy to see you here with another vacation planning question.

    Well, it sounds as if your vacation planning is off to a fantastic start! Visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth in October is always one of the most magical times to visit, and since the 50th Anniversary Celebration will still be in full swing and the parks and Resorts will be in the fall and Halloween spirit, you are sure to have the time of your life! But despite the best-laid plans, sometimes, plans do change. So, let's chat about cancellation policies, just in case yours do!

    Since you have a vacation package booked, as long as you cancel 30 days or more before your check-in date, you will get a full refund, including your deposit. If you have to cancel anywhere from 2-29 days before your trip, you forfeit your deposit only. So, if I have your arrival date correct, you have until September 1, 2022, to cancel without penalty. That is also when the final payments on packages are due, so, mark your calendar! That should give your friends plenty of time to find a dog sitter and figure out if they can join you or not. I'll be wishing upon a star that your friends find a sitter, and you are all able to have the most magical vacation together!

    Did you know that Walt Disney World Resort has a boarding retreat for pets?! Best Friends Pet Care provides Suites and Villas for dogs and cats to enjoy a magical stay while you enjoy yours! I'm not sure if traveling with their dogs would be an option for your friends, but it may be worth looking into!
