What are the cancellation policies at a Disney Resort? Are there any fees involved?

Hey there, Eileen! Welcome to planDisney!

We at planDisney love to hEAR that you are planning a Walt Disney World Resort Vacation! And I think you will enjoy the many benefits of staying on resort property. From the convenient transportation and proximity to the parks to the early theme park entry perks and more — staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel makes sure you stay close to the magic from beginning to end of your vacation!

Eileen, one of my favorite things about booking a hotel stay or vacation package with Walt Disney World is the flexible change and cancellation policies. Disney Resort Collection hotel cancellation policies depend on your reservation type. If you book a room-only reservation through the Walt Disney World Resort, there are no cancellation fees assessed as long as you cancel 5 days or more before your arrival. For Disney Vacation Packages inclusive of a Disney Resort’s Collection hotel stay and Theme Park Tickets, your cancellation policy depends on the timing of the cancellation. Cancellations 30 days or more before your arrival are refunded in full with no fee assessed. If you cancel within the 30-day window, a cancellation fee of $200 is assessed - meaning that you will not receive your deposit back in this scenario. If you cancel the day before your arrival or don’t show up at all, the full price of your vacation package is non-refundable.

I hope this helps, Eileen! If you have more questions as you plan, stop back by and ask me. After all, you’ve got a friend in me!
