Hi there, Romina! Thank you so much for stopping by here at planDisney! It sounds like you originally had plans to visit the
Disneyland Resort in California and are now interested in visiting the
Walt Disney World Resort in Florida instead. Both parks offer some amazing fun so you really can't go wrong either way.
These two resorts operate as two totally separate entities, which means you're not able to transfer your Disneyland Resort tickets over to the Disney World Resort. However, the good news is that your Disneyland Resort tickets have not lost any value - you can still make new Disneyland Resort theme park reservations with your existing tickets (check the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar to see which dates you can book)! If your Disneyland Resort tickets expire before you're able to use them, you can still apply the credit of those tickets toward a future purchase of Disneyland Resort tickets (as long as your current tickets remain unused).
If you're still planning on booking a new trip to the Walt Disney World Resort, then make sure to
visit my planDisney friends on the Walt Disney World Resort side to help you plan. They have some really amazing tips for visiting those parks. I haven't had a chance to visit Walt Disney World in a long time, but I'm hoping to go back with my family soon!
If you instead decide to stick with your Disneyland Resort trip, then that is also exciting news! There is so much fun coming to the Disneyland Resort this year. On January 27, the
Disney100 Celebration kicks off and will include new décor, merchandise, and treats. There will be brand new nighttime spectaculars -
Wondrous Journeys and
World of Color - ONE, and the opening of the
Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway attraction at Disneyland Park.
The Disney100 celebration has currently only been announced for the Disneyland Resort, so you'll still get new and unique experiences if you decide to stay in California for your trip. This means, again, that you really can't go wrong with whichever coast you decide on!
Thanks again for your question, Romina, I hope this answer was helpful for you in making a decision for your upcoming vacation. In the meantime,
please feel free to reply directly to me if you think of any follow-up questions.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
