Hi David,
Welcome to planDisney, and thanks so much for swinging by with your question. Planning a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation is such a fun process. There’s a lot to think about, like when to visit, how long to stay, where to call home during your trip, whether the dining plan is right for your family, how to make the most of the dining reservation window, and so much more. Fortunately, Disney makes it easy to pull all those puzzle pieces together with helpful tools like the
Vacation Planning website and resources like ours here at planDisney. We’re a panel of Guests just like you who’ve experienced the ins and outs of Disney vacations and are here to share our best tips and honest advice.
While putting together the perfect visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth takes some thoughtful planning, Disney also understands that life can throw a curveball or two. The good news is that the cancellation policies for both theme park tickets and hotel reservations offer some flexibility.
For vacation packages that include both a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel stay and
theme park tickets, you can cancel up to 30 days before arrival for a full refund. If you cancel between 2 and 29 days prior, a cancellation fee applies, but you’ll still receive a partial refund.
For room-only reservations, you can cancel up to eight days before check-in and get your money back.
And while theme park tickets are nonrefundable, unused tickets can usually be
applied toward a future visit. I always recommend contacting the
Help Center, Tickets and Hotel Reservations line, to confirm prior to making any changes.
All of these policies are subject to change, so I always recommend reviewing the Terms and Conditions during booking and keeping an eye on your email or
Disney Parks Blog for updates from Disney.
David, if you’d like help deciding where to stay or how to make the most of your theme park time, feel free to reach out again. I’ve been fortunate to stay at nearly all of the Disney Resorts Collection hotels and would love to help you find the perfect fit for your vacation style and budget. And as a self-proclaimed Disney foodie, I’m more than happy to share some restaurant picks you’ll want to snag as soon as that 60-day reservation window opens.
Just submit me a follow-up question directly, and I’d be happy to help you every step of the way.
See you real soon,
Brent
