Howdy, Debbie!
A warm wilderness welcome to planDisney and thanks for galloping by with your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question.
Yee-haw! It sounds like you're planning an exciting stay at
The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. Before you and your cowpokes saddle up for your trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth, I'd be happy to help you understand what to expect during your wilderness adventure!
One of the wonderful parts about Walt Disney World Resort vacations is the flexibility they provide Guests. Debbie, for campsite-only reservations, Guests may modify or cancel their plans up until five days prior to their scheduled arrival without penalty. For vacation packages (which include
Disney Resort hotel accommodations and
theme park tickets), the remaining balance must be paid and any changes or cancelations must be made 30 days prior to the scheduled arrival date.
Another awesome benefit of booking a stay at a Disney Resort hotel is the ability to enter the theme parks 30 minutes before they open to the public! I'm happy to inform you that Guests staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground can take advantage of the
early theme park entry benefit by utilizing either
watercraft transportation via the Green Route (to Magic Kingdom Park) or
bus transportation (to Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, or Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park). When you're planning to giddy up in the morning, keep in mind that the operation of watercraft transportation is weather-dependent!
Debbie, the
amenities at The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort are reserved for the enjoyment of campground Guests. However, other Walt Disney World Resort Guests are welcome to partake in some recreational experiences at the campground! For example, my family loves visiting the Happiest Horses on Earth at
Tri-Circle-D Ranch, even when we're staying at a different Disney Resort hotel. Guests who aren't staying on-site, but who still wish to connect with nature at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, also have the ability to book
horse-drawn carriage rides or rent bicycles to explore the campground. It's important to bear in mind, however, that parking at all Disney Resort hotels is restricted to hotel Guests or those with valid dining or recreational reservations.
I hope this information helps you to plan a rootin' tootin' trip to the Walt Disney World Resort, Debbie. If you have any additional planning questions before you skedaddle down to The Most Magical Place on Earth, feel free to mosey on back to
planDisney anytime!
Happy trails,
Lauren
