Welcome back, Melena!
We're so happy to have you here at planDisney. With just one day between you and the magic, I bet you are starting to feel the swirl of pixie dust and excitement. It's a great time to be in the parks with festive touches of Halloween Time throughout the resort; it's sure to be a frightfully fun day! Since
dining is such a big part of the Disneyland experience, it's a great idea to know what happens if plans need to change while you are out and about in the parks. Let's take a look!
Cancellation policies and fees for table-service restaurants can vary by location, so it's always a good idea to make a note in case your plans do need to change. Many spots have shifted to a more flexible 2-hour cancellation window, while some—especially those extra-special dining experiences—still hold to 24 hours or more. You can find the cancellation windows for each restaurant in the "Know Before You Go" details, which are always listed on the restaurant's page on the website or the app. Generally speaking, if your plans change within the window, the typical fee is $10 per person on the reservation. Since policies can vary, it's always a good idea to peek at the fine print either in the email you received confirming your dining reservation or tap the Guest Policies link when making the reservation itself. You will see it just above the "Next" button on the page where you enter your credit card details to hold the reservation.
If you are ahead of the cancellation window, you can also try to simply modify the reservation to another time or date. If you are already in the parks, head into the Disneyland app and tap the three-line icon in the bottom navigation bar, selecting "Future Plans". Scroll down to tap into your dining reservation and select the "Modify" button to see what your options are and follow the instructions from there. Recently updated, Guests are now able to check for availability across several days at one time, which I've found to be incredibly helpful in finding last-minute reservations during my last few trips.
I know we all have favorites and must-dos on our Disneyland lists, but if you are feeling a bit more go with the flow, you could explore the
Mobile Dine Walk-Up Availability. Once you have scanned into the parks, head into your app and tap the "+" in the bottom navigation bar and select "Check Dining Availability". Once you enter your party size and the date, you will see an option pop up saying "Hungry Now?" with a button to "Join a Walk-up List". This will allow you to take advantage of any last-minute openings!
Melena, I hope this has helped plan your visit for tomorrow! With all the happy haunts of Halloween Time in and around the parks, you may want to peek at the
Halloween Foodie Guide on your way to the resort to earmark any must-try treats! If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at planDisney.
Magic awaits!
