Welcome Home, Tom!
Oh boy! I am so excited to help a fellow Baystate resident today. While the weather up here in Massachusetts sure would make Elsa, Anna, and Olaf happy, I am dreaming about my next stay at a Disney Vacation Club Resort where, hopefully, my visit to my home sweet home Resort will be a bit more toasty.
Tom, if you are on the
Waitlist for a Disney Vacation Club Resort and wish to
cancel that request, you have two options. You can log into your Disney Vacation Club account and under the "My DVC" tab, select "My Dashboard." Scroll down a bit to where you see "My Plans," and then click on the reservation date which should open it up. You will see a button that says "View or Modify Details" and this is where you should be able to cancel your Waitlist status. Alternatively, you can call
Member Services and ask them to cancel it for you.
It is good to
cancel the Waitlist as soon as possible because should you get off the Waitlist for that Resort, you will automatically be confirmed into that Resort. Any existing, overlapping Resort stays you have booked will be automatically canceled. And, if you are sure you are no longer interested in that Waitlist reservation, you will want to release it.
Now, here's a tip for you Tom. If you are hoping for a different Disney Vacation Club Resort to open up availability, I recommend to keep checking back every day (and even a few times a day.) Recently, while trying to book my own stay, I did this and noticed that availability changes often - usually daily and sometimes on the same day - as Guests' plans change. With this strategy, we were able to book a stay at our first-choice Resort during our preferred dates in March.
I hope this helps you, Tom, and that you enjoy the most magical vacation of your dreams. If you have any further Disney planning questions, soar back here to see me. I'll be so happy to assist you!
Magically Yours,
Keri
