Hey Jennie,
Welcome home! And welcome to planDisney!
Thank you for visiting us today with your question, we are really happy you are here! It is great to chat with fellow
Disney Vacation Club Members and help them out with their membership. My family and I have been members for several years now, we only wish we had joined sooner!
One of my favourite parts of membership is the flexibility to use my Vacation Points across the Disney Vacation Club resorts, and the ability to convert points into Reservation Points to use at Disney Destinations all around the world (and the high seas!) Because we travel from the UK, we always book our home resort at the 11-month mark, taking full advantage of our
home resort priority period, and then at the 7-month mark we usually waitlist a resort we are yet to stay at. So, as you can imagine, Jennie, I always have a waitlist on the go!
More often than not though, we deactivate our waitlist because as we get closer, we start to really look forward to heading back to the comforts of our home resort
Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, where we really do feel at home. I can confirm, that deactivating your waitlist will not affect your confirmed reservation. Just be careful you click on the correct waitlist you wish to modify on your Member Dashboard. With a waitlist you will not see a cancel button, you will see a deactivate button.
I hope this answers your question, Jennie. If you have any further questions about your membership or vacation planning questions, please
reach out to me. I'd love to help!
Have a magical day,
Matt
