I love talking about the magic of Membership with other
Disney Vacation Club Members, so thanks for stopping by with your question. In addition to having so many Disney Vacation Club Resorts to choose from, I think one of the coolest features of DVC Membership is being able to Waitlist the perfect reservation, even if it's not available right away. Let me share a few details about Waitlisting a reservation (and what to do in the event you need to cancel) to help you make the most of this great Membership feature.
As you may already know, Disney Vacation Club Members have the option to
Waitlist up to two reservations at one time. So whether you're looking for a certain Resort or hoping to book a specific room type, you'll have multiple ways to Waitlist the perfect room directly from the Disney Vacation Club website. Sometimes, though, the best-laid plans don't always work out. So, whether you need to move your vacation dates or maybe your room needs have changed (or
plenty of other reasons), you'll need to cancel that Waitlist. And while it might be sad to let it go, the great news is that you can easily cancel your Waitlist from the DVC website. To do this, you'll need to sign into your Disney Account and click on "
My DVC" in the top menu. Under "My Vacation Plans" on the next page, click on your Waitlisted reservation and then select "View or Modify Details". From there, click "Deactivate Waitlist Request" and follow the onscreen prompts to confirm your cancelation.
In addition to making multiple requests, another feature I love about the Waitlist process is having the option to automatically cancel an existing reservation once your Waitlist request is fulfilled. This is a great way to make sure that you have a "backup" reservation in place, just in case your Waitlist request doesn't come through. Then, if your Waitlisted reservation is confirmed, you won't have to worry about remembering to cancel your original room –– it makes things easy and convenient, just the way I like my vacations!
