Hi Josh! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with this great question!
I love that
Walt Disney World allows you to secure your vacation package by putting down a deposit at the time of booking. It allows me to know that I have a reservation on the books and can start incrementally saving and making payments for our trip. The balance is due 30 days prior to your arrival date, which looks like that is in a few days for you.
I was able to speak with a Cast Member at the Disney Resorts Reservation line and they confirmed that if final payment for your package is not received within 30 days of your arrival, your reservation will not automatically be canceled. You'll receive an email the following day stating that your payment is past due. About five days later, an additional email will be sent restating that your payment is still past due. At this point, I recommend making the payment if you can, or at the very least, making a partial payment. This will show that you have not forgotten about the reservation and are attempting to make your payments. If you only make a partial payment or still have not made any payment, I suggest
calling the Walt Disney World Resort and explaining to a Cast Member your situation. They will most likely be willing to work with you over the next few days to secure payment for your trip. Communication is always the best tool in this scenario and Disney is usually able to work with you to find a solution.
Josh, I hope this eases your worry a bit about your upcoming trip. I'm excited you'll be arriving just in time to still take part in the
50th Anniversary Celebration taking place across all the parks and resorts. If you are planning to visit EPCOT, make sure to stick around in the evening to catch
Harmonious! This nighttime spectacular is one of my favorites and has everything you want in a show. The musical score, colorful projections, and fireworks are all purely magical!
Have an amazing trip! See ya real soon!
