How do I cancel my trip to Disney?

Hello there, Casey. Welcome to planDisney!

While it can be upsetting to cancel a vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort, plans can change. So while I'm sad to see you cancel, I'm hoping you can find a better time to experience the magic. It'll be there waiting for you when you're ready.

Before we go through how to cancel, let's just make sure we go over some of the current refund policies. For vacation packages (Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room reservation and theme park tickets booked together), you can receive a full refund (minus any third-party charges) if you cancel at least 30 days ahead of your arrival date. If you cancel between 2–29 days before arrival, you will receive a refund minus the deposit, and any vacation package canceled 1 day or less before arrival (or no-shows) will not receive a refund. For room-only reservations, you can receive a refund if you cancel at least 8 days before your scheduled check-in. And while you will not receive a refund for a theme park ticket-only purchase, you can typically use the amount you paid for your current tickets to make a new ticket purchase. Be sure to check out the Terms & Conditions for the most up-to-date policies.

If you have a vacation package that you booked directly through the resort, select “My Plans and Tickets” under the My Disney Experience dropdown menu. Scroll down until you see your hotel reservation details and look for a button to cancel. Click it and follow the prompts. If you don't see a cancellation button, it's time to reach out to a friendly Cast Member at the resort for assistance. If you booked through a third party, please contact them to assist you, noting that their cancellation policies may differ.

Casey, I hope you can reschedule your trip to the resort sooner rather than later. There are so many wonderful things coming in 2026 and beyond. From Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets to The Mandalorian and Grogu coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run to Soarin’ Across America, there will be so much new and shiny alongside the classic and nostalgic.

Sending you the best. If you have any other questions, I'd be happy to answer them!

    Until next time,
    Matt
