Hello there, Kylie!
Welcome back to planDisney! I’m filled with
Joy at the chance to help a fellow Utahn plan a visit to The Happiest Place on Earth! That means we get more of those “gold” memories my friend
Ashley wrote about before. But now, it looks like we may have one of the blue memories being created. I’m sorry to hear that someone from your party won’t be able to make it to the Disneyland Resort this time around. But if you’ve seen the
Disney•Pixar film Inside Out, you may recall that combining Joy with Sadness helps create some of the most special core memories of all.
Now, this process is going to take some faith, trust, and just a little bit of pixie dust. To cancel the
theme park reservation for only one ticket of a group of tickets sharing the same park reservation, you’ll start by visiting the "
My Theme Park Reservations" page. Now, here’s where that faith and trust will come in; you’ll click on the “Cancel Reservation” link under the confirmation number of the date you wish to cancel. But don’t worry, it won’t cancel the reservation for everyone right away. The next page will show you a list of the tickets associated with that park reservation. Select only the ticket or tickets you wish to include in the cancellation. Then click the Continue button to proceed with confirming your choice. When you return to the "
My Theme Park Reservations" page, you’ll be able to verify the remaining tickets are still in place for the reservation.
Tony’s Tip: Now let’s talk about Joy again. My family was in a similar circumstance as yours just last September. A member of our family ended up not being able to make it to our planned visit to the Disneyland Resort. We were all very sad about that. But then, we were very happy to find that someone else could go along with us instead. In our case, we ended up keeping the ticket and park reservation in place. The new member of our party just used that ticket as-is. We could have changed the name by calling the
Tickets phone line. But it was also OK to just leave it. So we did! So before you cancel that park reservation, maybe consider if you have a friend or family member that might want to go along with you.
If you proceed with canceling the park reservation for the one ticket, you will still have that ticket linked to your account. You may then make a new park reservation using that ticket for another visit as long as the ticket is valid. If you don’t have a chance to use that ticket before it expires, you may also use the value of the wholly-unused ticket to upgrade to a new ticket of equal or greater value. Just stop by a main entrance ticket booth to work out upgrades like that. But you likely still have several months before you would need to worry about that. Check the purchase confirmation email for the tickets to be sure, but I am guessing your unused ticket won’t expire until the end of next year or possibly even January of 2024.
I hope you have a magical time making those wonderful memories, Kylie! If you have any more questions, please feel free to visit us again at planDisney. And be sure to enjoy all the
seasonal treats!
