Hi Sally,
Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
I'm sorry to hear, though, that you're needing to cancel your plans to visit the Walt Disney World Resort.
Depending on the type of Walt Disney World Resort hotel reservation you have, you might be able to
cancel the reservation directly through your
My Disney Experience account.
When you sign in to your My Disney Experience account, you should be able to see your
"My Plans" information where you can see your Resort hotel reservation displayed. If your Resort hotel reservation is able to be cancelled through your My Disney Experience account, you will see that option. If you don't see an option for cancellation in your My Disney Experience account, you would want to call the Walt Disney World Resort at (407)-934-7639 and speak with a Cast Member for assistance with the cancellation.
If you booked a Walt Disney World Resort
vacation package, you could cancel that vacation package 30 days or more before your arrival to receive a refund of the amount you have paid. The refund would exclude any third-party fees or non-refundable costs such as travel protection plan costs.
Theme park tickets purchased separately are non-refundable, and would remain linked to your My Disney Experience account for use for a future visit. If it should happen that the theme park ticket
goes unused and expires, the amount you paid for that ticket could be applied to the purchase of a new theme park ticket priced the same as or more than the original ticket you purchased.
Sally, I hope this information is helpful. I'm hopeful that you'll get to enjoy all the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort real soon. Here's wishing you lots of Disney magic in your day today!
Jerry
