How do I cancel my resort reservation but keep my tickets? We’ve decided to stay off property.

Hello, Travis! Welcome to planDisney, and thanks so much for stopping by with your question. I’m happy to chat about your Walt Disney World vacation plans! As I see you have a vacation coming up in less than a month, I’ll try to provide information specific to your dates!

Regarding Walt Disney World Vacation Packages, you’ll notice that these include both Resort Hotel stay and Theme Park Tickets. Unfortunately, these cannot be separated, so if you have decided to stay off property, you would have to cancel your active reservation and then purchase Park Tickets separately. Your Park Pass Reservations should remain active in your My Disney Experience account while you make those changes.

Of note, there may be cancellation charges related to this change as it is less than 30 days before your vacation. The best way to navigate all of this would be to contact Disney Reservations directly. They can help you with the cancellation, re-booking your Tickets, and explaining any associated fees that may apply.

Travis, I hope that this information is helpful to you as the dates of your vacation draw nearer! Good luck in navigating this process, and I hope you can soon settle into your vacation plans and continue to look forward to all the fun you will have! Keep a close eye on the Experience Updates pages and the Disney Parks Blog to hear about the latest news surrounding the continued reopening of the Disney Parks and all the exciting updates as they are available. And know that we are here for you every step of the way if you ever need a hand!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Clara
