Hello there, Mia!
I’m so sorry to hear that one person in your party won’t be able to join you on your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. I understand that situations change frequently for people, and sometimes last-minute changes need to be made. I recently experienced this when my sister wasn’t sure if she’d be able to join our vacation due to work.
According to the
Walt Disney World Resort Terms and Conditions, for cancellations made 30 days or more prior to Guest arrival, amounts paid, minus cancellation fees from third-party hotels or other suppliers, runDisney race registrations, non-refundable travel protection costs, and other amounts owed, will be refunded. If you need to make a cancellation two to 29 days prior to your arrival, the amounts paid, minus a cancellation fee per package and the previously listed exceptions, will be refunded. If cancellations are made one day or less prior to your arrival, the full price of the package will be non-refundable. Finally, changes to reservations, such as party size, are subject to availability and the prices applicable at the time the change is requested, and changes made 30 days or less prior to your arrival are also subject to change fees.
It sounds like you may still be determining the specifics of your situation; in this case, I recommend calling a
Disney Resort Hotel Reservation Cast Member by phone to talk through your situation and all of your options. They may be able to provide more specific Fairy Godmother-like guidance and information about a potential refund and when you need to make difficult decisions.
May the magic be with you!Melanie
