Hi there, Maureen, and welcome back to planDisney!
You’re only a few sleeps away from your great adventure at Walt Disney World Resort. Woohoo! Plans change all the time, so canceling or postponing a meal is totally something that I’ve experienced many times.
As you mentioned, advance dining reservations can be canceled without penalty using the
My Disney Experience App or on the Walt Disney World Resort website up to 2 hours before the reservation time. You may also modify it before this 2-hour window.
However, once you’ve entered the 2 hours preceding your meal time, you are not able to modify your reservation online or in the app. In the past, I have been able to call the
Dining Reservations hotline within the window and speak to a friendly Cast Member who was able to push my family’s reservation back a bit. In one particular case, my husband and I hit local traffic on the way to
Jiko—The Cooking Place and the Cast Member found a spot for us that was 30 minutes later. You are welcome to ask someone at the restaurant for a modification as well. Of course, it is not guaranteed that there will be a reservation available.
By the way, you’ll be at The Most Magical Place on Earth during the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. Don’t miss out on the beautiful topiaries and floral designs that immerse you in the Disney stories that we know and love. Maureen, if you have any additional questions about your upcoming vacation, please give us a holler.
I’m all ears! Magic always,
LeAndra
