We have to cancel our 3rd day reservation - can we get a refund for the lightning lane pass?

Hey there, Jaclyn! Welcome to planDisney! Oh, bother… my heart goes out to you! It’s always a bit like a deflated Mickey Mouse balloon when carefully laid plans need to change, especially when it involves a day at the Disneyland Resort. I'm so sorry to hear you have to cancel your 3rd day park reservation. Let’s put on our thinking caps, like Sorcerer Mickey, and see what options might be available for your Lightning Lane pass.

Typically, Lightning Lane passes—whether Multi Pass or Single Pass—are nonrefundable and non-transferable. I know that’s not the news you were hoping to hear. However, don't lose hope just yet!

Since it sounds like you have a multi-day ticket, there might still be a path to a happy ending here. While you need to cancel this specific reservation for your 3rd day, if your overall plans might allow you to adjust and reschedule that third park day for another time, that could certainly be a wonderful solution regarding your ticket and any Lightning Lane passes associated with it. If your ticket is still valid (and most multi-day tickets are valid for 13 days after the first day of use, or until their stated expiration date), you may be able to simply cancel your current 3rd-day park reservation and then make a new park reservation for a different date that works better for you. If you purchased Lightning Lane Multi Pass for your ticket for its entire duration, it should still be happily waiting for you when you reschedule that third magical day! Here's hoping that since you're a California resident, you might live close enough to embark on that rescheduled adventure before your ticket's pixie dust expires. Wouldn't it be wonderful to still get to experience that last day of enchantment?

If rescheduling that third day within your ticket's validity period isn't looking like a possibility from your end, my best advice would be to reach out to Guest Services. The Cast Members there are true magic-makers, and they understand that sometimes, even with the best planning, life happens. You can explain your situation, and they can look into your specific ticket and purchase details to see if any exceptions or alternative solutions might be available. While I want to be clear that since Lightning Lane passes are generally nonrefundable, a refund isn't guaranteed, it never hurts to ask. Think of it like wishing upon a star—sometimes, the most wonderful things can happen! They are always there to listen and try to help make things right, as much as they possibly can.

No matter what happens with this particular day, Jaclyn, I hope you have some wonderful experiences at the resort on the other days you’ll be visiting. Disneyland is always brimming with new delights and classic charm. Perhaps on your future visit, whether it's the rescheduled third day or another trip down the road, you'll discover a new favorite treat, encounter a character you've always wanted to meet, or experience the thrill of a new attraction. The magic is always evolving!

Remember to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for the latest happenings. There's always something exciting on the horizon, from seasonal festivals to special celebrations—including the brand new Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration! It might give you some wonderful ideas for when you can make that next visit!

Sending you a big dose of pixie dust and understanding, Jaclyn. I truly hope you can find a way to enjoy that third day of magic soon!
